Seventh and Eight month

This was great difficult phase of my life. I thought babies are so easy to handle why people make big fuss of it until I was left alone to handle my cutie pie. I realized my mistakes then. I dint make akki to follow a sleeping or eating schedule until mum was with me. During these days he used wake up in midlle of nite, drink his milk and wanted to play, I used to play along with him as I had a leverage to sleep during the day time. I never used to rock him sleep or forced him to sleep. I let him sleep whenever he wanted to... whatever time it may be. Due to this leverage he developed a weird schedule, he used sleep during day and used to wake at 3 am.
I realized that this was a HUGE MISTAKE only when my mum left to mumbai. I had a small baby to take care of and had to cook for my hubby (I had a maid for other household chores). These 2 things became very hectic to handle. I dint have enough sleep. It was driving me crazy. That was the time I started blogging. I started reading a lot about baby sleep and eating schedule..then I realized not just WHAT but WHEN is also important part of parenting.
I posted many questions in parenting blogs. Out of which what impressed was one sentence from 'YAhoo Answers'. It said "You are letting your baby control his own schedule...correct that, every thing wil b alrite". I thought the answerer was rude when i saw it the first time. But the statement was ringing in my mind and I started to 'correct that', Believe me it was tough but I succeeded by end of the eight month. I prepared his sleeping and eating schedule and almost made him follow that.

Troublemakers:
the factor "WHEN" of sleeping and Eating schedules

Baby eating and sleeping schedule:
I dint have a complete schedule during this period but was struggling hard to reach there.

Sixth month

We were finally back to our home. Akki's dad was so happy to see him n my kiddo responded too, with a smile. I dunno if it was coincidence. But Ram was a proud dad that moment, as he thought his son recognized him. To my surprise akki got well with the changed environment but I dint. Winters are really cold in Bhadrachalam compared to Mumbai. It took me few days to jell along with the climate but then I passed the test too.

It was so blissful when three of us were under the same roof. That was moment when I felt that my family is complete.
This is time when you start introducing solid foods to your baby. But we waited until the end of this month. Though we tried to introduce to him moon daal ka pani, stock of boiled carrot n other vegetables but all in vain. He used to make big fuss of it.We let him won this one. His screams
made him win this n plus from this period his screams weren't sweet anymore.

My mum was still with us. She stayed with us until she was sure that I could handle things all alone.

Trouble makers:
Climate at BCM and my sweetie's hatredness to adapt the new tastes

Baby feeding schedule:
Bottle feeds of pasteurized milk: 3 to 4 times a day (150 to 200 ml)
Bottle feed of Raagi kanji: 1 time a day (150 ml) There is big procedure for making raagi kanji for infants. It is way different from what toddlers or children or adults have.
Apart from the above nursed him as per his demands

Fifth Month

I was all set to cum to my place...bhadrachalam (nr. hyderabad). Did lot a shopping meanwhile. It really satisfied by shopping buds. OMG...after so long...I could go out with Trish n shop shop n shop. This time it was more fun as it was for both of my kiddos (out of which one is my hubby). I shopped for nappies, wipes, blankets, mini bed, toys n clothes for summer, clothes for winter, daily wear clothes, clothes for party n of course clothes for my hubby too. Earlier I used shop 4 myself which was fun too but this was the superlative degree of fun.

Besides shopping I also started giving him bath. He was so small n soft. He used to hate the bath times (but now he wants to dive into the bucket full of water). He used to cry at top of voice n tell the world that his mother is torturing him. Our neighbors always used to guess his bath time rite. They had developed a guessing game on my kiddo's bath time. Is screaming in a apartment (in Mumbai) with 'n' number of neighbors surrounded u, a crime? May be...but my cutie's screams were tuned to musical ragas (at least to my ears). Speaking of screams..he also cried a lot during his DTP vaccinations..(it is due in third month...n it was given that time only but as I 4got to rite then...I m penning it down now). That cruel Doc told me told his legs tight, unaware of the symptoms, I did hold it tight. Before I could realise a six inch needle was piercing my cutie's thighs....Poor thing. I felt like murdering the Doc the first time then it became part schedule. But after that first vaccination, I never had courage to open my eyes during the injection time.

Ok back to what this blog's heading says....We started giving him pasteurized milk in his feeding bottle which was the second thing in his hate list. But by the end of the fifth month he got used to it. It's recommended to adapt spoon feeding. But being a modern citizen of this universe, we generally try d convenient way more than the correct way..

His head was not steady yet. It was so funny to c him uprite. Trish used to cal him 'hile dule mahatma phule baboo'. We used to take him out n it was fun to dress him.

Fourth Month old

At this phase of my life I had recovered from the prior surgeries and was all set to be a full time mother. I was still at my mum's place. After pregnancy, there is tradition in India where they won't let their daughter in the even month i.e., as my son is 4 month old..I m not allowed to go back to my place but if he is 5 month, then I allowed to go. Some number odd-even number game I guess. Till date I couldn't understand this weird tradition. But as it is followed by every1 even I did.
I waited for this month at my mum's place and was ready for the months to come.
My baby had started moving. He would complete a circle around him when laid on carpet and sometimes he would travel 1 feet ahead when on back. He also learnt to roll himself on stomach and then way back to the normal position. That was his first major milestone according my mum's baby milestone meter (second is crawling and then walking and the last would be talking). She was so tensed as my baby rolled back only on the fourth month. According to her friends normal babies these days roll on 45th day. There was lot of efforts and a bit of drama from my mum to make him roll on hi stomach. She along with our elderly maid used to place him on right so that he can roll over easily. The drama ended on 16th December 2009, when he finally rolled himself back. It was so blissful to see him lift his head by his own. Really 'BLISS' is the word.
Apart from that my son was still an cute angel. He mostly used to sleep other than his eating and playing hours.

Troublemakers:
My mum's friends and our elderly maid

Baby schedule for four month old:
This would be same as earlier but apart from that I used to feed him water in between 2 feeds.
(water generally would be 1 to 2 spoons)

0 to 3 months

Its been a while now... cudn't spare time for blogging as my son started walkin these days. It was blissful to watch but at the same time too painful too. I have not seen my son hurt himself so often. Though it is a normal phase of every child, I feel as if my son has made me proudest parent since the day he learnt walking.
Ooooops...Coming back to what I decided to write...0 to 3 months
During this phase of my baby...All I had to do is breastfeed him, and admire him all the day. Changing him, and the all the other daily chores were taken care by my mother and our maid as I was adviced complete Bed Rest. It would have been so difficult without them . My mother was darling. She used to do all chores without a sign of difficulty. I know it was pretty difficult for her....handling a partially bed ridden 26 yr old plus a new born...but she never showed it..She always had a smile when she came near us. I am so proud of her. Neways Thanks for everything maa...Love u...
Ok i get distracted very fast... coming back to the phase..
First it was much difficult to figure out the correct way of breast feeding (though I had refered n no. of books) A nurse and my mother used to support me every time I breast fed. But once I figured out a comfortable position for both of us..Breast feeding was Pure BLISS.

Troublemakers:
My body as i was too weak after 2 major surgeries otherwise my baby was an angel

Baby Schedule for 0 to 3 months:
Mostly used to sleep. I was advised demand feeding. But I rather wanted to stick to a schedule. Fed him every 2 hours during the day (nursing time woud vary from 20 mins to 30 mins).
In the night, I stuck to demand feeding concept i.e., whenever he used to cry coz of hunger

Mistakes:
Dont feed the baby while aseep. Unfortunately I did it and later realised that was a big mistake

Being a mother

I am mother of 1year old and have gone through lots of up and downs along with his growth. In past 1 year of my life i have sructinised my each day for my little one. I had been never so careful of my activities in my whole life but last one year I have recorded all the mistakes I have done and corrected them as and when required...I have also appreciated myself at times.
Motherhood is boon....I had realised that after a month of my baby's birth. During the first month i was all in pain as I had undergone through major surgery after my little one's birth. It was too early to realise that the baby beside me is begining point of my eternal journey of motherhood. I still remember the when he was breast fed for the first time...he was hungry and turned towards me for more. That moment was unforgettable... I was all in pain, couldnot turn towards him.....I had so many supports but nothing worked. My body had given up but I knew that my baby wanted me. I could never forget the inner fight which made me realised that I am mother now.
I was adviced bed rest for complete three months. All I did was watch my baby... fed him and then fed myself.... I used enjoy his every activities.....his yawn, his smiles, his innocent look while asleep, his cry.....everything....There it all started....My eternal journey of Mother hood...
